Zola Faye Junkin, 94, Vincennes, Indiana went to be with the Lord on April 4, 2026. She was born in Russellville, Illinois on April 6, 1931, to the late William "Pete" and Mary Painter. She graduated from Fritchton High School in 1949. Zola married the love of her life, James R. "Bob" Junkin, on May 3, 1952. She worked all her life as a homemaker caring for her family and home. She was a member of the First Christian Church, 20th century Sunday School group, and the Homettes Ladies Group. In her free time, she enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, crafting, reading, watching birds, solving word puzzles, spending time with her family, and helping Jim with the farm. She will be deeply missed.
Zola is preceded in death by her parents William and Mary Painter; siblings Herman Painter, Earl Painter, David Painter, Lena Johnson, Cleo Patrick; great-grandson Ethan Lane Abel.
She is survived by her daughter Terri (Jerry) Utt; grandchildren JR (Kim) Utt, Lori (Dave) Brown, Sara (Shane) Abel, Toni (Bobby) Nero; great-grandchildren Kenzie Abel, Levi Brown, Tyler Brown, Kenadie Utt, Kendall Utt, Jaxon Utt; great-great-grandchild Lia Marie Miller Abel.
Goodwin-Sievers is honored to be entrusted with the care of Mrs. Junkin. Visitation will be held Saturday, April 11, 2026, at 524 Broadway Street from noon to 2 pm. The Funeral Service will begin promptly at 2 pm with burial a Memorial Park Cemetery following immediately.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the First Christian Church in Zola's honor.
